Cellular Service/Equipment Discounts

The University System of Maryland has arranged for discounts from several cellular phone companies. Employees of any USM school may receive discounts on service plans and equipment from Sprint/Nextel, AT&T, and Verizon Wireless. Please contact the cellular phone provider for details

USG Bookstore

Employees receive 20% discount on items purchased from the Shady Grove Bookstore located in Building III, 1st Floor (next to library).

UMD Free Software

UMD students, faculty and staff can now download various software packages such as Office 2016 through TERPware. Packages are available for institutional, work-at-home and personal use.

UMD Cloud Storage

Box is a cloud-based storage and collaboration system for uploading, downloading, sharing, and discussing files. It is designed to work on Macs, PC's, smartphones, and tablets. UMD Box Accounts are hosted by Box and managed by UMD's Division of IT. All rights and responsibilities established in the UMD Policy on Acceptable Use of IT Resources apply to the UMD Box service.

Maryland Mortgage Program

The Maryland Mortgage Program (MMP) provides 30-year fixed-rate home loans to eligible homebuyers purchasing in Maryland. Loan terms are competitive with other home loan products on the market, but what makes MMP unique is the range of associated financial incentives and other assistance that, for many homebuyers, means the difference between being able to purchase and continuing to rent. There are a few different types of home loan products and programs offered by MMP such as the Down Payment and Closing Cost Assitance (DPA). The DPA offers up to $5,000 in loan amount at 0% deferred interest. This means one only has to pay the principal amount when the house is sold or refinanced. Your individual situation will determine which loan option fits you best. Please note, you are required to use one of their state-approved mortgage lenders to qualify.
