Shuttle Service

2020 Spring Semester USG Charter Shuttle to UMCP

The chartered shuttle service between College Park and Shady Grove will run on its normal schedule (see chart, below) beginning the first day of UMCP Classes.  Arrival times are subject to traffic conditions, but buses should generally be at the stop 5 minutes prior to departure time and leave promptly at the departure time. The bus stop location for the USG terminus is in parking lot 5 between Building #3 and #4 and the UMCP terminus is at the Stamp Bus Slip.

All Shuttle-UM buses running between USG and UMCP are chartered buses and all scheduled buses will run on Monday-Thursday ONLY, from the first day of classes through to the last day of exams, not including Spring Break. All riders are required to display a USG photo ID to board the bus at either end of the route.  The ShuttleUM Lost & Found can be reached at 301-314-3687.  USG recommends that you create an account at "NEXTBUS Automatic Alerts." DOTS will notify you of potential inclement weather cancellations through this service.  Create your account and choose the "Add New Watch Route Alerts" so that NEXTBUS Automatic Alerts sends you a text message and/or an email when disruptions or outages occur.

Shuttle-UM's 141 Gaithersburg Park & Ride commuter bus route serves the West Diamond Avenue MTA Park-and-Ride in Gaithersburg and UMCP. This route is available to all USM students and staff, regardless of USG affiliation.

UMCP students who are only taking one class at USG may have chosen not to exchange their UMCP photo ID for a USG  photo ID.  If you don’t have a USG photo ID card and wish to use the charter bus from USG to UMCP, you must see your Program Director to obtain USG charter bus privileges. Your Program Director will contact the Safety & Security Office to confirm your enrollment at USG. Once you’ve been approved, USG Security (B-III desk) will place a holographic sticker on your UMCP ID. This sticker will allow you to board USG-UMCP charter buses using your UMCP photo ID card.
