Inter-Institutional Enrollment (Course Sharing)

Students have the opportunity to take courses from other University System of Maryland institutions offering courses at USG to augment their degree program under the Inter-Institutional Registration program (formerly known as Course Sharing).

Students must register for courses via the Inter-Institutional Registration Procedure. Please refer to the IIR schedule of classes to determine eligible courses for the upcoming semester and  the number of available seats.

Program Requirements:

• Enrollment in courses is on a space-available basis and visiting students are expected to meet prerequisites or other criteria set by the host institution.
• Tuition and fees are paid at the home institution.
• To participate in the Inter-Institutional Concurrent Registration Program students must:
  • Have, at least, sophomore standing;
  • Be in good academic standing;
  • Be enrolled full-time in a degree program at the home institution for the semester in which the course(s) are taken. Full-time status is defined as a combination of credits registered for at the home institution and the registered credits at the host institution;
  • Have the approval from the home institution USG Program Director for the course to count as credit in your program;
  • Comply with the host institution's registration procedures and deadlines.

Definitions:

• Home Institution is defined as the institution at which the student has been admitted and is enrolled as an undergraduate degree candidate.
• Host Institution is the institution at which the student is registered to pursue courses through this cooperative agreement.
