About Recalls

  • A "Recall" of library materials is when a borrower's loan is shortened because it is needed elsewhere, and there are no other available copies
  • Depending on remainder of current loan period, a Recall may dramatically shorten your time with an item
  • Recalled items cannot be renewed, and accrue overdue fines at an accelerated rate
  • Any item can be recalled at any time
  • The library system sends out automated notices for Recalled items
    • All automatic communications from the system are sent as a courtesy.  Failure to read the notice does not excuse late returns
  • Borrowers can always check the status of their loans using the My Account or My Library Card section of their home institution's library catalog search
