2024 ACES Summer Bridge - reachHIRE
What is reachHIRE?
Every summer, the Universities at Shady Grove (USG) hosts the Achieving Collegiate Excellence and Success (ACES) Summer Bridge Program called reachHIRE, a coordinated summer series offered in conjunction with Montgomery College and Montgomery County Public Schools for ACES students.
The theme, reachHIRE, focuses on "leveling up" in your academic preparation and career exploration. Throughout the week, students participate in activities and workshops that develop skills such as communication, professionalism, and critical thinking. These skills, known as HIRE U Competencies, have been identified as essential for success in today’s workforce. Students engage in interactive skill-based workshops and activities to strengthen these skills throughout the week. Students also have the opportunity to network with professionals to learn about various career options from local businesses and organizations in Montgomery County. By participating in reachHIRE throughout the week, ACES scholars are one step closer to achieving their academic and career goals!

June 17 - 24, 2024 (Students will receive the schedule after submitting the registration form)
Where?
Hybrid: Right at home from your computer and one day on the USG campus!
How will it work?
- The 2024 reachHIRE Summer Bridge will be a hybrid program.
- reachHIRE Program Structure Overview:
- Session 1:
- Dates: Monday & Tuesday (6/17-6/18)
- Location: In-Person at USG Campus
- ACES Schools: (Montgomery Blair, Paint Branch, Northwood, Einstein, Magruder, Clarksburg, Watkins Mill)
- Timing: 9 am - 4 pm
- Session 2:
- Dates: Wednesday & Thursday (6/20-21)
- Location: In-Person at USG Campus
- ACES Schools: (Springbrook, Blake, Rockville, Kennedy, Wheaton, Gaithersburg, Seneca Valley)
- Timing: 9 am - 4 pm
- Professional Pathways Panel:
- Date: 6/24
- Format: Virtual via Zoom
- Target Audience: All Schools
- Timing: 2 pm - 4 pm
- Session 1:
All ACES rising seniors are required to attend. Please speak with your ACES Coordinator if you are unable to participate.
*The first 100 students to register will receive a prize on their in-person day of reachHIRE!*
