The Division of Academic Strategy, Planning, Innovation, Research & Engagement (ASPIRE) at the Universities at Shady Grove advances the mission of the University System of Maryland by driving alignment, innovation, and data-informed decision-making in partnership with our nine academic institutions. We work to ensure the system remains responsive to the needs of students, communities, and employers—today and into the future. Our work is grounded in collaboration, shaped by evidence, and guided by a shared commitment to excellence, equity, and impact.
We lead the development and execution of strategies that support the production of future leaders, expand access to high-quality learning opportunities, and meet the talent and workforce demands of our region. Through strategic planning, performance monitoring, cross-institutional coordination, and system-wide initiatives, ASPIRE plays a central role in strengthening institutional effectiveness and ensuring collective success.
