The Universities at Shady Grove (USG) is pleased to announce the winners of the 2020-2021 USG Achievement Awards. This year, 36 students received an award based on nominations by staff, faculty and their peers in three award categories, which include the following:
Academic Achievement Awards
20 Student Winners
These awards are presented to one outstanding senior from each undergraduate program offered at USG who has demonstrated academic excellence and achievement. Winners are selected based on grade point average, participation in internships and honor societies, and contributions to their program of study.
Winners of the Academic Achievement Awards will be acknowledged at the Graduation Celebration festivities on Friday, May, 2021.
Academic and Community Excellence Awards
14 Student Winners
These awards celebrate graduate and professional students who have made outstanding contributions to their community in the areas of scholarship, service, leadership, and involvement in the form of Academic and Community Excellence Awards. One student from each of the graduate/professional programs at USG will be eligible to receive this award.
Winners of the Academic and Community Excellence Awards will be acknowledged at the Graduation Celebration festivities on Friday, May, 2021.
Leadership and Service Awards
2 Student Winners
These awards are presented to seniors who have demonstrated outstanding leadership, service, and dedication to USG and the community at large. Winners are selected based on their participation in extracurricular activities, community service, and commitment to their fellow students.
Winners of the Leadership and Service Awards will be acknowledged at the upcoming Student Engagement Awards on Friday, April 23, 2021.
All student winners were mailed their award, along with a custom USG shield lapel pin.
