Why Cite Sources
Citations strengthen credibility and bolster arguments. The three main reasons to cite sources are:
- Avoid plagiarism – Using words or ideas of someone else is plagiarism.
- Provide authority – Support the statements in your text.
- Locate sources – Allow others to find the source materials that you used.
