R2R Application Requirements: 2.0 minimum GPA, 12-36 completed credits, interest in at least one UMBC@USG program: History, Psychology, Social Work, Political Science, and/or Translational Life Science Technology)

Raptor to Retriever (R2R) is a transfer access program designed to streamline the transfer process between MC and UMBC-Shady Grove. The program offers students a structured pathway for attaining an associate degree and a baccalaureate degree.

Note: Students must adhere to all UMBC admissions procedures and UMBC-Shady Grove program-specific requirements.

Requirements
Admission Program
  • Completed Application (Fall deadline: June 15; Spring deadline: November 15)
  • Minimum 2.0 MC GPA with an indicated interest in at least one of UMBC’s undergraduate programs offered at USG 
  • Earned 12-36 credits by the end of the semester of application
  • Participate in an interview with the UMBC at USG Assistant Director*
  • Additional selection criteria (i.e. level of commitment to program and professional/academic/co-curricular involvement) will be used and garnered through the application process

*Eligible candidates will be emailed information on how to schedule this mandatory part of the application process. If you are invited to interview but do not respond to the request in a timely manner, your R2R application will be denied.

  • Signed and completed individualized Success Agreement (SA)
  • Completion of required modules, events, and trainings
  • Semesterly advising sessions with MC and UMBC representatives
  • Fall Retreat
  • Three workshops (at least one must be USG-offered)
  • Completion of an Associate Degree from MC with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0

      • This email will serve as your username in the application/student portal platform.
      • You cannot change your username after creating your account.
      • You will use this same login to access services before and after you transfer.
    • Communication regarding your application decision will go to your personal email/account username.
