Program Overview

Our eight-week Equity Incubator program, available in both the spring and fall, provides a distinctive opportunity to establish, scale or enhance your business while fostering connections within Maryland's vibrant entrepreneurial ecosystem and community. At the culmination of the program, participants have the chance to pitch their business and compete for a prestigious cash award. Join us in our mission to promote entrepreneurship and foster transformative leadership not only in Montgomery county but throughout the entire state of Maryland. We are excited to support you in transforming your ideas into tangible realities!

We invite individuals who identify with a gender, racial/ethnic, or other identity which, historically, has not been dominant in receiving entrepreneurship support. We do this because we aim to create a collaborative, diverse cohort of entrepreneurs that can contribute unique perspectives in a supportive environment as we foster new venture formation and growth.

After a competitive application process, a selection of companies is chosen to participate. These organizations receive stipends for their work and are connected to an experienced entrepreneur mentor who meets with them weekly. The program was initially funded in part by a grant from the Montgomery County Economic Development Corporation, The Blair Family Foundation, and others. The Fall 2023 and Spring 2024 cohorts are being funded by a congressional ear mark grant from Chris Van Hollen's office.

Apply for the Fall 2023 Equity Incubator Program

This cohort meets on Wednesdays from September 20 to December 8. Applicants may apply as a team or individually, and upon being selected, will receive a $3,000 stipend per team and eight weeks of workshops and mentoring. Early stage businesses are welcome to apply. Individuals and/or teams will have the opportunity to pitch judges at a final competition for cash prizes.
