My educational journey started at Montgomery College (MC) where I was able to take many courses in different areas of study since I was not sure what major I wanted to pursue. Initially I took courses in the business field because I wanted to own my own business. But after I began volunteering at a nursing home I decided I wanted to pursue a degree in nursing because I wanted to make a difference in the healthcare field.

As I was about to apply to nursing school, I decided I still had a passion for business and conducted a final search on any majors that entailed both business and healthcare. I was very pleased when I discovered that the University of Baltimore (UB) had a major in Health Systems Management. I was even more excited when I saw that UB offered the program at USG. I had heard about USG while looking to apply to the University of Maryland School of Nursing at USG.

My time at USG has been a phenomenal experience because of the:

  • Helpful staff around campus
  • Career & Internship Services Center, where I was able to acquire an internship in my field
  • Robust student life and a plethora of student organizations where I was able to gain leadership experience

During my first semester at USG, I became part of the Student Ambassador Program. This program has helped me enrich and enhance my leadership and communication skills, personal growth, and professional development.

My future goals are to complete a Masters degree in Health Systems Management or Business Administration and open three healthcare clinics in three different countries.
