Career Preparation Services
In-person and virtual Career Preparation sessions are available on a daily basis for all students at USG. Session topics focus on enhancing oral and written communication career materials including resume and cover letter writing, LinkedIn profile reviews, interview preparation and mock interviews, and graduate school planning. Students may view available appointments and schedule a session by logging into TimeTap.
Career Preparation Service Policies
We encourage all students at USG to take advantage of these services and those offered by home campuses as they prepare for their professional careers and/or entry into graduate school upon graduation.
So that we may serve all students equitably and with the highest quality service, we ask that students adhere to our career preparation policies as outlined below.
Access to Career Preparation Services
Services and appointments are open to the following students:
- Current undergraduate and graduate students enrolled in academic programs at USG that have a valid Student ID card
- Alumni who attended their academic program at USG and graduated within the past year
Scheduling an Appointment
All students can schedule appointments through their TimeTap account If you have any questions, please contact the main phone line, 301-738-6315 during normal business hours.
Arriving for your appointment
When arriving for every appointment:
- Students must arrive on-time for their scheduled appointment. If a student is more than 10 minutes late, they may be asked to reschedule their appointment
- If a student is having a resume and/or cover letter reviewed, they must upload copies in advance in TimeTap or have a digital/print copy accessible during the appointment
Appointment Limits
There is a limit of four (4) appointments, per current student and alumni per semester. Exceptions can be made by special request or on a case-by-case basis.
Cancellation Policy
If students need to cancel an appointment, they must do so at least one hour in advance. Any missed appointments that are not cancelled in advance and are not “excused” due to emergency circumstances will be counted toward the four (4) appointment limit for the semester.
