Julia graduated from the University of Maryland, College Park with a B.A. in Psychology with a specialization in Speech Communication and completed a M.S. in Management with a specialization in Nonprofit Administration from University of Maryland University College. Julia is also a graduate of Montgomery County’s Leadership Montgomery CORE program. Julia currently serves as the Vice President of the Board of Trustees for Future Link of Maryland and serves on the Board of Directors for Montgomery County’s Corporate Volunteer Council. In addition, she is a member of the MCPS-MC-USG Partnership Collaboration Committee and a founding member of the MCPS-MC-USG “Career Experience Opportunities” Taskforce. Throughout her career in higher education, Julia has held numerous professional roles within the University System of Maryland including Coordinator of the Federal Work-Study Community Service Program, Education Finance Coordinator and Associate Director of Student Services. Julia is particularly interested in the causes of student advocacy, building community partnerships, and growing volunteerism among our community.

Jessica graduated from Quinnipiac University with a B.A in Communications and obtained her M.S. in Counseling with a concentration in College Student Personnel from the University of Bridgeport. Prior to joining the CISC, she was a Career Management Advisor at the Kogod School of Business at American University and served in a dual capacity as a career coach and member of the employer relations team at the University of Baltimore. Prior to making a transition into higher education, she worked in television and marketing. Jessica is a certified administrator for the Strong Interest Inventory assessment, Gallup-Certified Strengths Coach, and has earned the Career Development Facilitator certificate.

Ada is committed to providing essential tools and resources to help students and alumni grow their capabilities. She previously served at the T. Howard Foundation as the Program Coordinator for Career and Alumni Services, promoting diversity in media and entertainment by increasing the number of diverse groups within the industry through internship and full-time placements. Previous roles focused on data-driven initiatives focused on easing high school to college transitions at Montgomery College and the Career Ladders Project. Ada graduated from Notre Dame of Maryland University, a women’s college in Baltimore, where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Political Science.

Barbara J. Goldberg received her BS in Education at the University of Pittsburgh and her Masters in Counseling also at the University of Pittsburgh. She grew up in New York, went to school in Pittsburgh and moved to Maryland near the Nation’s Capital a city she is thrilled to call home. Before joining the staff of CISC as a career coach Barbara worked at the University of Maryland, College Park Counseling Center, Learning Assistance Service. She is a National Certified Counselor and an active member of the Maryland Mental Health Association. During her tenure at UMD she provided counseling to undergraduate and graduate students, developed and taught transition classes for adults and transfer students, facilitated groups for women in multiple roles.and received many grants to support her work. She and her colleague, Beverly Greenfeig were pioneers in developing one of the first programs in the nation for returning students. They also wrote a manual for other colleges and universities on how to create a similar program on their own campuses. They coordinated this program since its inception and received funding for scholarships, emergency money and no interest loans, as a result they were able to provide over $500,00 to many deserving adults. Barbara has presented at National and International conferences and is delighted to be a part of The Universities of Shady Grove Career and Internship Services team.

Beverly Greenfeig received both her BA degree and her Master's degree in Counseling from Temple University in her hometown of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She later moved to Washington, D.C., where she worked as a counselor at Howard University Dental School. Prior to joining the CISC team at USG, Beverly worked at the University of Maryland Counseling Center, Learning Assistance Service supporting student success through teaching, counseling, research, and program development. She and her colleague, Barbara Goldberg, were pioneers in developing one of first returning students program in the nation, under a federal grant. They coordinated this program since its inception and secured over $500,00 in grants , scholarships, and emergency monies. Beverly has also worked extensively with transfer students and has presented at national conferences. She is a National Certified Counselor (NCC). She is delighted to be a member of the CISC team and to assist students to move forward positively in their career exploration.

Claudia graduated from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County with a B.A. in Social Work and a minor in Psychology.  She is currently working to become a licensed baccalaureate social worker (LBSW).  Claudia began working in Student and Academic Services for the Office of Student Services as a student worker in 2014.  Claudia is excited to provide critical support to the CISC team. In her spare time, Claudia enjoys trying new restaurants.

Maria Graduated from the University of Maryland, College Park with a B.A in Criminology and Criminal Justice.  Maria began working in Student Academic Services for the Office of Student Services as a student worker in 2015 and later as a student ambassador for the Universities at Shady Grove (USG). Prior to joining the CISC, she interned for both Montgomery County Police Department’s Special Operations Division and the Office of The State’s Attorney for Montgomery County in the Special Victims Unit. In addition, Maria has extensive customer service knowledge as well as a strong background in administrative duties.

Eleni graduated from the University of Maryland, College Park with a B.A. in Communications with an emphasis in visual communications. She is currently pursuing a MFA in Integrated Design from the University of Baltimore. Eleni begin working in the Career & Internship Services Center in 2013 as a student worker and upon beginning graduate school, was promoted to Graduate Assistant. As a GA, Eleni serves many different roles, including event planning, project management, student outreach, data management, and marketing. She is passionate about design and looks for new and innovative ways to bring career services to Shady Grove’s unique student population.
