On-Campus Job Opening
The USG Conference and Events department (CES) is seeking a current USG student to work as a Student Audio Visual Assistant under the direct supervision of the Audio-Visual Technician. CES provides event space, planning, logistics and technology services on campus to the USG administration, staff, students, and partner programs.
The Student Audio Visual Assistant will have the opportunity to develop their organizational and technology skills including equipment setup and operation of video cameras, streaming encoders, video switchers, audio mixers, wireless microphones, video projectors and more. Working hours will be determined based on CES events and students’ academic schedule.
The Audio-Visual Student Assistant would have the following job responsibilities:
- Organize, collect, and transport AV equipment to event locations on campus
- Setup and connect AV equipment in preparation for events
- Operate AV equipment during events
- Log-in computers and provide customer assistance when requested
- Breakdown and return AV equipment to storage rooms
- Maintain inventory of equipment
- Other related duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Must be enrolled as a part- or full-time student at USG for Fall 2022
- Must make a minimum commitment to working entire Fall 2022 semester. Entire school year is welcome.
- Must be able to work 12 to 20 hours a week
- Must have basic computer proficiency and be able to learn additional software and hardware
- Must have excellent communication and customer service skills
- Must be able to lift and transport AV gear that can weigh up to 40 lbs.
- All student employees must follow USM and USG health guidelines and vaccination mandates.
The position pays $15/hr and would be subject to federal and state tax withholding.
