Field Engineer Job Description
Assist the Superintendent/Assistant Superintendent with daily tasks. Strong communicator with project team and to help with the development and advancement of professional relationships with clients, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure client satisfaction.
Job Duties/Responsibilities
- Document daily construction progress and information using daily reports, field observations, safety notices and photos logged to PROCORE.
- Collect subcontractor reports and verify subcontractor crews/workforce.
- Under the supervision of the Superintendent or Project Manager, ensures proper maintenance of job site record documents.
- Complete Storm Water Prevention Plan (SWPP) logs in coordination with Project Superintendent.
- Assist in project layout and dimensional accuracy.
- Work with subcontractors on deliveries of materials and general coordination to ensure proper sequence and progress of work.
- Quantity surveys for ordering self-perform materials.
- Assist Superintendent and/or Assistant Superintendent with QC Program, pre-installation meetings, Foreman’s meetings, and follow-up inspections.
- Assist Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent, PM, APM with the review of project drawings, specifications, submittals, RFIs, Project Modification’s to ensure accurate implementation of any project modifications.
- In the performance of duties, ensure compliance to corporate policies and procedures.
- Under the supervision of the Project Superintendent, assists in the scheduling of work activities for subcontractors to ensure completion dates are met while adhering to budget guidelines.
- Have a basic understanding of Safety requirements and practices. 10-hour OSHA certificate (willingness to work to obtain 30-hour).

- Position requires a basic understanding of general contracting and life cycle of a project.
- Individual needs to be motivated and self-directed, well organized, and willingness to learn basics of project management.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively as a team member.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to relay information between internal and external project partners.
- Ability to begin reading architectural plans and specifications.
- Proficiency in data entry, project management software, Microsoft Office projects, Excel.
- Takes initiative, problem solver, organized and sets personal goals.

Physical Demands/Working Conditions
- Willingness to travel in market based on project location.
Computer/Technology
- Proficient in the use of personal computers including iPad/tablet device.
- Knowledge of data entry, project management software (Procore), Microsoft Office, Excel.
- Basic knowledge of uploading and managing web-based document storage
- Willing to learn recent technologies with provided training.
