USG’s Career and Internship Services Center hosted its 2nd annual “Evening with Industry” etiquette dinner and networking event on Wednesday, November 28, attracting a capacity crowd of 80 students along with mentors representing 16 local employers. The event served to educate students about proper etiquette at a business-related dinner, provided career guidance and networking tips, and connected students to potential employment opportunities in their field.

“Evening with Industry is a terrific networking and learning event for students, and we thank all the employers who participated for providing such an important service,” said Julia Rader, Director of the Career and Internships Services Center. “This is the kind of education that is hard to find in the classroom and we have received rave reviews about all of the mentors who participated.”

The event included a 30-minute networking happy hour with nonalcoholic beverages and a fine-dining dinner experience, giving students a chance to learn and execute proper manners and communication skills in a professional social environment, as well as meet and connect with employers in their areas of interest.

USG wishes to thank all the employers who participated as well as the students of University of Maryland Eastern Shore’s Hotel and Restaurant Management program for preparing and serving the meal.
