The 5th annual USG Student Achievement & Leadership Breakfast was held on Friday, April 17, 2009. The event honored the Academic Achievement Award recipients, representing the best of the eighth graduating class from institutions participating in the Universities at Shady Grove partnership. Also recognized were outstanding individuals selected to receive the Student Leadership and Service Award. Montgomery County Councilmember Valerie Ervin served as the guest speaker addressing the group on leadership, service and academic achievement.

Academic Achievement Awards
These awards were presented to one outstanding senior from each undergraduate program offered at USG who demonstrated academic excellence and achievement. Awardees were selected on the basis of grade point average, participation in internships and honor societies and contributions to their program of study.
