Rockville, MD - Students, faculty, and staff at the Universities at Shady Grove have raised a total of $2,112 to aid victims of Hurricane Katrina through the American Red Cross. The USG campaign, which began September 6 and concluded on September 23, was "a wonderful example of the spirit of our community here at the Universities at Shady Grove," said Stewart Edelstein, executive director. Edelstein also thanked John Kapp, program director, University of Maryland, College Park Undergraduate Biological Science Program at USG, for his leadership, as well as the two student groups, Criminology and Criminal Justice Student Association (CRIMSA) and American Marketing Association (AMA), that played an active role in making the campaign a success.
