While professors transition to online classes and staff work to provide remote services to current students during this unprecedented public health emergency, the Universities at Shady Grove (USG) Center for Recruitment & Transfer Access (CRTA) has also been busy implementing new tools for prospective students to connect with our campus from the safety of home. March and April are normally some of the busiest months for CRTA staff members to meet with students looking to enroll in a program offered at USG, with a plethora of now-canceled community college visits, high school college fairs, information sessions, and the spring Undergraduate Expo event. Luckily, CRTA staff have been able to recreate as many of these experiences as possible through two brand new webpages designed just for prospective students: USG 101 and Academic Program Information.
On these pages, prospective students and family members, ranging from high school through graduate school, will be able to: download all of the brochures and flyers normally distributed at in-person events; find contact information for academic program-specific representatives; schedule a virtual appointment with a recruitment staff member; register for a virtual Transfer Access Program Information Night; hear from current students; and even view a pre-recorded information session geared towards all audiences. While CRTA staff hope they will be able to return to in-person recruiting this summer, these pages will still be a valuable - and greener - complementary resource for prospective students to use going forward.
