Two new interprofessional programs are scheduled for the

Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) Interprofessional Summer Internship

USG and the UMB Center for Interprofessional Education (IPE) are co-funding an internship for 2 teams of students (12 students total) from 5 disciplines and 3 academic institutions to serve in an IPE 8-week summer internship at DHHS. The students will be assigned into a multidisciplinary team to complete projects that are both interdisciplinary and across all five DHHS agencies. Students from the following programs offered at USG will participate: UMBC Psychology and Social Work Departments, UMB School of Pharmacy, Nursing and Social Work and UMCP School of Public Health.

Interprofessional Clinical/Rotation Experience at Mercy Health Clinic (Gaithersburg, MD)
UMB Pharmacy, Nursing, and graduate (UMB) and undergraduate (UMBC) Social Work students will work in interprofessional teams to conduct comprehensive case management visits for complex, high risk patients at Mercy Health Clinic in the fall. Students will see patients as coordinated teams one half to one full day per week.
