In a county of more than a million people, with thousands of accomplished women in a wide array of leadership roles, it’s especially impressive to be one of only six honorees to be celebrated by MoCo 360 Media this year as “Women Who Inspire.” Such is the case with Dr. Anne Khademian, Executive Director of the Universities at Shady Grove, who is among the honorees featured in the September-October edition of the MoCo 360’s Bethesda Magazine and is being honored at a special event on September 14 at the Marriott Bethesda Downtown Hotel.

Since taking the helm at USG in October 2020, Dr. Khademian has forged key partnerships with industry leaders and employers to ensure that the skills taught at USG align with the needs of the workforce. She led the effort to develop USG's first-ever strategic plan, known as USG 2.0, which emphasizes preparing students for meaningful employment and sustainable-wage careers. Under her leadership, USG has secured nearly $12 million in grants, gifts, and federal funding to support the vision laid out in the USG 2.0 plan.
