The USG STEM Symposium is a dynamic monthly event series aimed at showcasing the innovative academic programs within the Universities at Shady Grove’s Engineering & Technology Hub and Health & Life Sciences Hub. Each month, a different program will host a virtual workshop, highlighting critical, industry-relevant topics and emerging challenges that their curriculum is designed to address. Join us on October 24, 2024, at 4:00 pm for the second session, led by Dr. Benham Shariati, UMBC's MPS in Cybersecurity. This session discusses the cyber kill chain and phases that have been utilized by cyber criminals to launch a cyber-attack. We'll also explore how Ransomware as a Service (RaaS) has become a lucrative business for cyber attackers and how we can defend against it.
