Bookeye Scanning Tips
- For a usage tutorial with both videos and images, please visit our KIC BookScanner Help Guide
- The KIC scanners both in the Copy Room and by the Reserves shelves are operable entirely via the touchscreens
- Note that the scanner in the Copy Room CANNOT email documents, you can only save to USB drive
- The file type of any scan defaults to a searchable PDF with certain quality and color options
- You can change the file type, quality, and coloration of the file using the options on the right side of the touchscreen
- Set your book as close to the center of the scanning pad as possible
- For thick books that don't lie flat, the bookrest can be converted into a V-shaped cradle using legs under the outside portions of each plate
- You can send your file as an e-mail attachment to yourself, or download directly to your own USB storage
- Remember to send or download your file before you end your session!
- Due to file size limitations, each document has a maximum of 15 scans
- To scan more, end your session and start a new one
- Each press of the "SCAN" button counts as 1 scan, even if it's 2 pages wide
- Adobe Acrobat allows you to combine multiple PDFs into one, once you've downloaded them onto your own computer
- If sending a large file as an e-mail attachment the system may seem to freeze, but it will generally complete after a modest delay
