Kaitlin began her career in student academic services in 2015,  working as a learning specialist for student-athletes at The University of Maryland, College Park (UMCP), while attending graduate school. Kaitlin is a former Division 1 student-athlete who swam for NC State University and qualified for two Swimming Olympic Trials in 2008 and 2012. Her passion for working with students is what inspired her to write her masters dissertation on how various writing and other study strategies targeted for learning disabilities can enhance college students with learning disabilities academics. She graduated from UMCP in 2017 with a Master’s in Special Education/Higher Education. She joined the staff at USG in 2018, as the coordinator of testing and disability support services. Kaitlin not only ensures scheduling of disability testing, she also meets with students to ensure they are getting their accommodations, updating accommodations, works with faculty and staff regarding DSS needs, and meets with students weekly for academic coaching. Kaitlin started the first DSS Honor Society at USG for students with disabilities to join. Kaitlin is very passionate about DSS services and makes it a point to promote DSS awareness on campus and ensure all students have an equal opportunity to learn at USG.
