Towson University is pleased to offer a Masters of Arts in Teaching (M.A.T.) in Special Education at The Universities at Shady Grove (USG). This program is specifically designed for Montgomery County Public School (MCPS) employees who already possess, at a minimum, an undergraduate degree and are seeking INITIAL teacher certification.
Students may apply for one of three tracks:
- Special Education- Early Childhood Education (birth-grade 3)
- Special Education- Elementary/Middle Education (grades 1-8)
- Special Education- Secondary Education (grades 9-12)
The M.A.T. in Special Education is a cohort program that follows a specific course sequence and timeframe for completion. New cohorts begin every fall semester.
