Minor in Criminal Justice

The Minor in Criminal Justice offers non-CCJS majors from the University of Maryland, College Park at Shady Grove the opportunity to learn more about the criminal justice system and the challenges it faces. Students who complete the minor will have a better understanding of how the criminal justice system operates (including police, courts, and corrections) and its strengths and weaknesses. Students will also have the opportunity to be exposed to emerging topics such as cyber forensics, CSI, homeland security, victim advocacy, and human trafficking.

The CCJS program helped me discover my specific interests within the criminal justice arena and exposed me to a wider set of opportunities and jobs within the area.
