Several types of learning environments are available for reservation. Click on the arrows below to learn more about each type of room and its features.
Traditional rooms are designed with desks in long rows designed to focus attention at the front, center of the room or as a U-shape configuration that can direct attention towards other students. For larger classes, traditional rooms may have theatre seating, maximizing the visual field of students sitting further back in the classroom. Traditional classrooms come standard with an LED Projector, projection screen and instructor PC.
Hyflex rooms allow for simulaneous in-person and remote instruction. The AV technology allows the instructor to easily select contect from a variety of sources from HD up to 4K. Superior audio systems allow students to clearly hear instructor and peer voices, while pan, tilt, and zoom cameras display Zoom, WebEx, Microsoft Teams or, where applicable, IVN content.
Active learning environments support project-based learning that encourages students to work together to solve problems with guidance from an instructor who circulates amongst groups. Matrix switching capability allows content to be shared from any instruction source or classroom pod to large format TV displays.
USG provides a variety of computer classrooms to meet the growing needs of it's institutional partners. Some classrooms feature Macs or specialized systems to accommodate academic programs with specific hardware requirements. Software requests should be made to the Office of Information Technology.
