Priddy is passionate about leveraging education to improve lives. He initially became involved with USG and the University System of Maryland when he spoke to the legislature about the importance of sustained funding for technology in higher education. As the founder and leader of a software development company, he has helped USG build relationships with technology trade associations and high tech companies. He credits USG with contributing to the region's economic vitality by providing educational opportunities for students who remain in the area to live and work. He adds that one of USG's assets is its student body which reflects the rich diversity of Montgomery County and enhances the educational experience for its students. Priddy served previously as Chair of the USG Board of Advisors and in 2007, he and his family established a generous endowment, which led to the naming of the Shannon J. and Michael D. Priddy Library on the USG campus.
