Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) supports education by managing safety and environmental risks to meet regulatory requirements and standards of care. We protect personnel and the environment by providing EHS services across campus. Our goal is to promote and maintain a safe and healthful educational environment for the USG community.
General Information
Typical service areas include laboratory safety, occupational safety and Health, environmental protection, and hazardous waste management in collaboration with our partner institutions’ EHS departments.
- Lab Safety – New Lab Faculty, Safety Training, SciShield (formerly BioRAFT)
- Occupational Safety and Health - Workplace Safety, Ergonomics, Indoor Air Quality
- Dispose of Hazardous Waste – Chemical, Biological, Sharps, Universal
- Environmental – Stormwater, Oil Spill Prevention, Illicit Discharge Detection
Emergency or Incident Reporting
Emergencies must be reported following the guidance on the Public Safety and Security page. Incidents or near misses must be reported by contacting the Public Safety and Security Main Desk and filling out an Incident Report Form.
