Admission to the Master of Science in Health and Human Performance
Program Requirements:
- Completion of a baccalaureate degree with a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. Applicants with a cumulative GPA between 2.75 and 2.99 may be considered.
- Completion of the application for admission to graduate studies
- Payment of an application fee
- Submission of official transcript from all colleges/universities attended
- Two letters of recommendation
- One-page personal letter stating your career goal(s)
- For international students, TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) test scores are required, or IELTS (International English Language System) test scores. The minimum TOEFL test scores in the following areas are required for admission into the graduate program in Health and Human Performance: Reading Skills 22, Listening Skills 22, Speaking Skills 25, and Writing Skills 24. The minimum IELTS test scores are: Reading Skills 6.5, Listening Skills 6.5, Speaking Skills 7.0, and Writing Skills 7.0.
Prerequisite Undergraduate Coursework for All Candidates
- Human Anatomy and Physiology I and II (e.g., BIOL 215 & 216) - Requires a "C" or better
- Exercise Physiology (e.g., EXSC 344) - Requires a "B" or better
- Kinesiology or Biomechanics (e.g., EXSC 333) - Requires a "B" or better
Please note:
- Equivalent transfer (from another institution) coursework will be evaluated for satisfying prerequisites prior to admission. Students with a GPA > 3.0 lacking prerequisite coursework may be granted conditional admission by agreeing to complete prerequisite coursework within the first-year of the program.
- A Residency/Domicile Information Form needs to be completed for in-state tuition status.
