Outstanding Service to the USG CommunityErin FernandezThe Universities at Shady Grove Facilities and Planning
Erin has worked in the higher education and private event industries for the past 12 years including for Princeton University, Savannah College of Art and Design, and the Corcoran Gallery of Art + College of Art and Design, where her clients included Time Magazine, Showtime, Microsoft, members of Congress, and former presidents. In 2012 she was published in the Journal of Arts Management, Law and Society for her article on how stigma in the arts industry influences participation among individuals with disabilities. Prior to joining USG, Erin worked for a private catering firm where she learned how to wear many hats — a lesson that has served her well as a member of the Facilities and Planning department at USG.
Since 2016 Erin has worked as the Scheduling and Space Manager, overseeing all scheduling and space requests for USG and its nine partner institutions. Erin is honored to work with her colleagues in Facilities including the Maintenance and Public Safety teams and harbors a deep appreciation for all of the hidden work that goes into running the USG campus. |
