Howard R. Jean is the CEO and Founder of Black Meta Corporation, specializing in SaaS Workforce Technology and job placement for Web3, Blockchain, Fintech, & EV Careers for women & BIPOC using Virtual Reality & Learning Management Systems.
The mission is to create pathways for 1,000,000 BIPOC professionals to become a new pool of talent for the technology industry, specifically Web2, Web3, Blockchain, and Biotech disciplines. This is accomplished by providing SaaS learning tools in Web2 and VR Tech/Metaverse, combined with job placement/training & IRL experiential exhibitions/engagements for high-school to career changers across the country.
Jean has appeared on the Oprah Winfrey Show, Tavis Smiley Radio Show, USA Today, Associated Press Articles, Jet Magazine, Essence Magazine, and the cover of ARETE Magazine, as well as a plethora of online articles for his work in entrepreneurship, education with minority males, and community service. Just recently, Jean was awarded the 2023 “Champion for The Culture” Award from The Gathering Spot in DC for his work in Technology Community Building & Advocacy through @BMAweb3.
Jean has garnered almost two decades of success in workforce development & training across multiple industries.
After serving in the Leadership Development and Education field in Philadelphia and Washington, D.C., Jean pivoted into the Cybersecurity and Management Consulting Industry for Federal & State Governments by joining award-winning Enlightened, Inc. as a subcontractor in 2014 under his firm, SEIL Global Group, with an assignment in the Business Development division of the Enlightened with a focus on Corporate Development. In 2019, his firm was tasked with developing and leading the MWBE Diversity and Inclusion Compliance Program for the Port Authority of New York New Jersey & PATH Corporation, the nation’s largest public transportation agency. His work resulted in the highest contract utilization for MWBE firms at the agency.
Currently, Jean serves as the Events Chair & helped to found the Greater Washington Black Chamber of Commerce. He was recently appointed to the D.C. Workforce Investment Council’s IT Advisory Council, Vice Chair of Success 4 College in Chicago, a 23-year member of the Lion's Club, VOICE Alexandria VA Member, Member for PAGE One Foundation, & Member for Concerned Citizens Network of Alexandria.
Jean holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Education from Historical Black College & University, Claflin University, & a Master of Science degree in Education in Social and Philosophical Foundations from Troy University.
