The Gilchrist Center is the main gateway to success for thousands of immigrants who come to Montgomery County with limited financial resources. They provide a very comprehensive list of services throughout Montgomery County such as citizenship preparation, DACA assistance, pro bono legal help, English classes, computer and devices classes, job search workshops, assistance with utility bills, rent, food, and medical referrals (healthcare & insurance), taxes and foreclosure prevention.

DACA Information - Here you can find information on the current status of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA). Currently, they are not taking any DACA initial or renewal requests.
Immigration Forms - Here you can also find any immigration forms – whether you are trying to apply for permanent residency, extend your visa, or become a citizen among many other forms.
Statement - In response to President Trump's decision to end the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program, the University System of Maryland Chancellor Robert Caret released a statement from the System office urging Congress to pass legislation protecting this population.

DACA and Undocumented Student Financial Resources 

When applying to different aid programs, keep in mind that citizenship requirements can vary. Some aid programs have citizenship requirements, but others do not. Before applying, make sure to review the eligibility requirements of each aid program to determine if it requires U.S. citizenship status.
