Community Review Internship- Department of Health and Human Services 

The Community Review (CR) is a process through which DHHS staff receives feedback, input and participation from independent stakeholders and community members regarding the success and effectiveness of services. Guided by the Community Review Questionnaire and a program self-assessment, the trained review panel evaluates program performance based on alignment with the mission, guiding principles, customer services, values and sound internal operations against objectives established by the DHHS Strategic plan. The intern would participate on a Community Review panel with either two other experience reviewers or with a team of three students with guidance from an experienced Community Reviewer serving as a mentor.


  • Assist with the preliminary work plan activities and timeline to prepare for a review
  • Serving on a review panel and participating as a review member to complete the Community Review Assessment Tool (CRAT)
  • Observing the selected program's services, interviewing staff and customers, reviewing a self-assessment and program-related documents, and facilitating a questionnaire (aimed at targeting the -Department's Strategic Plan goals, as well as DHHS' mission, guiding principles and internal operations)
  • Draft, edit and revise the final Community Review Report

Office of Community Affairs (OCA) Internship- Department of Health and Human Services 

The Office of Community Affairs conducts community outreach, leads programs and diversity initiatives for disparity reduction and provides services to reduce poverty and increase self-sufficiency among County residents through services, partnerships and advocacy. The intern shall evaluate data needs of the Office of Community Affairs and develop a plan for regular data generation, data gathering and presentation.


  • Gathering and cataloguing information on data needs of the OCA through interviews with OCA staff and leadership.
  • Reviewing current data availability and data generation/compilation practices.
  • Draft substantive workplan activities and timelines
  • Draft, edit and revise the final Community Review Report
  • Participate in stakeholder meetings
  • Contributing to the development of a data management plan

Healthy Baller Speed & Performance Center - Strengths & Conditioning Internship

Healthy Baller is looking for interns for the spring and summer of 2018. Interns will be required to schedule and maintain a minimum of 30 hours per week. We are looking for current undergraduate students and the post bachelor young professional looking for experience. This is also a great chance to learn how a strength and conditioning company operates in the private sector. 


  • Assist with supervision & execution of strength training programs for assigned athletes and or teams.
  • Teaching athletes proper techniques and equipment use.
  • Attending to the daily maintenance of the Healthy Baller facility.
  • Participation in weekly projects, meetings, and assignments throughout the internship program.


Must have a strong work ethic and have a desire to become a Strength & Conditioning Professional. Ideal candidates will be working towards a Bachelors degree and certification from all or one of the following: NSCA CSCS, CSCCA SCCC, USAW, NASM PES OR ACSM HFI. Candidates must also have up to date CPR certification.
