How do I schedule a Career Immersion?
USG’s Center for Career Development can assist your organization in selecting a date to schedule a Career Immersion event. Once a date and time is selected, the Center will advertise the event to applicable student populations within USG and preregister students for the event.
What is a typical itinerary for a Career Immersion?
Below is a sample itinerary for a Career Immersion event:
9:00am Students arrive
9:15am PowerPoint presentation and a brief video about organization
10:00am Tour of the facilities
12:00pm Lunch presentation on career and internship opportunities
1:00pm Panel discussion with professionals from different divisions of the organization
2:00pm Event comes to a close

Will a representative of the Center for Career Development attend the Career Immersion?
Yes! A representative from the Center for Career Development will attend the event to act as an ambassador between the organization and students.
How often should we host Career Immersions?
In order to maintain a pipeline of USG students aware of the opportunities for internships and careers at your organization, consider hosting a Career Immersion on an annual basis.
Can we host a Career Immersion remotely?
Yes! We have are piloting virtual career immersions for students as well! If you are interested in working with us to create a virtual career immersion for organization, contact us via email at usgcareerservices@umd.edu.
