With the rapid pace of growth in IoT products and applications, there is a pressing need in industry and government for engineers with special skills in hardware and software design who are well-versed with both analog and digital electronics and information systems. The University of Maryland, College Park Bachelor of Science in Cyber-Physical Systems Engineering (CPSE), formerly Embedded Systems and Internet of Things, at the Universities at Shady Grove will address this demand. The program will train future engineers who are cognizant of the latest trends in circuits and hardware-oriented software who are capable of immediate contribution to the private and public sector institutions in which they will work.

The Terp Transfer Partnership (TTP) program in CPSE is a Transfer Access Program (TAP) designed to benefit Montgomery College and Frederick Community College students who plan to transfer to the UMD CPSE program at USG.

The TTP program for Cyber-Physical Systems Engineering will help you prepare for all aspects of the transfer process including:

  • Priority advising with UMD program representatives
    • Pre-transfer advising to ensure that you are taking the correct classes at MC or FCC
    • Early academic advising on UMD program requirements
  • Early access to USG student services, supporting TTP students in the following Transfer Readiness Zones:
    • Academic Readiness: Oral & written communication, critical thinking & problem solving and digital technology.
    • Career Readiness: Career development, teamwork & collaboration and professionalism & work ethic.
    • Personal Success: Leadership, equity & inclusion and personal well-being.
  • Two-degree credentials – Associate's Degree and Bachelor’s Degree

What are the requirements for TTP?

TTP application and completion requirements are unique based on your current institution (MC or FCC).  Please click on your institution below to learn about these requirements. If you meet the TTP application requirements for your current school, please utilize these application directions to complete the TTP application!

The fall deadline to apply is June 15. The spring deadline to apply is November 15.
