Race, Color, and National Origin

Race refers to groups of people distinguished by their inherited biological attributes, deemed by society to be socially unique. Ethnicity refers to shared cultural practices, perspectives, and other characteristics such as ancestry, homeland, language, forms of dress, and other differences that are not inherited but learned. Discrimination is any prejudice, action or attitude, conscious or unconscious that favors or subordinates an individual or group on the basis of physical differences such as skin color and/or ethnic differences such as national origin.
