USG is responsible for providing a safe and healthy campus environment for all students, faculty, staff and visitors. In keeping with this objective, with the exception of service animals (defined by ADA 28 CFR 36.104 as "any dog that is individually trained to do work or perform tasks for the benefit of an individual with a disability"), household pets are prohibited on the USG campus due to potential problems with allergies, sanitation, noise, property damage, personal injury, and other safety issues.

USG employees and USG academic partner institution staff and faculty who are bringing a service animal to campus on a daily or regular basis must notify the USG Administration office (Jessica Nardi) for approval.

Pets brought in for USG approved events (stress buster week, family day, fair, etc.) will be allowed on campus for the day(s) of the event only and must have prior approval from the event coordinator. Pet owners must have control of their pets at all times while on USG campus. The USG Security office maintains the right to require the removal of animals they believe might pose a threat or a disturbance to the campus.
