Executive Council

The Executive Council of the Universities at Shady Grove (USG) is responsible for setting the strategic direction of USG, establishing annual priorities and budgets, providing organizational oversight, approving high level workplace policies and ensuring effective implementation. 

Members of the Council represent USG in the work with the University System of Maryland and our academic partners, and across a range of external partnerships in Montgomery County, the Greater Washington Region and the State of Maryland. 

The Executive Council works collaboratively with the USG Staff Advisory Council and the USG Implementation Council to build and sustain a workplace culture that supports a fulfilling and enriched employment experience, operational effectiveness and innovation, and the practice of USG’s values and commitments in pursuit of USG’s strategic goals and mission. The Chairs and co-chairs of the Staff Advisory Council and Implementation Council attend Executive Council meetings on a regularly scheduled basis for discussion and alignment of staff, implementation, and strategic issues.
