On Thursday, April 7, 2011, six students from the University of Maryland Eastern Shore Hotel and Restaurant Management program at USG were inducted into Eta Sigma Delta (ESD), an international honor society that recognizes exceptional academic achievement among hospitality and tourism students. New inductees included Mahalia Barnes, Abdul Hafeez, Hamba Kaaga, Gladis Maldonado, Rossana Saprissa and Nataly Trujillo. They joined fellow students, Dan McCoy, Ashley Briggs and Nu Harman as members at USG.

ESD is administered by the International Council on Hotel, Restaurant and Institutional Education (International CHRIE), the leading international association devoted to hospitality and tourism education.

There are more than 60 active Eta Sigma Delta chapters throughout the world. The chapters are a testament to the dedication of both students and professionals in hospitality and tourism to the pursuit of academic, professional and personal excellence.

USG congratulates the new inductees on their achievement!
