Bowie State University

Established in 1865, Bowie State University is the oldest historically black institution of higher learning in Maryland and one of the oldest in the nation. Bowie State University (BSU) offers undergraduate, graduate and professional programs and serves a diverse student population.

BSU provides educational opportunities to enable students to function in a highly technological and interdependent world by placing particular emphasis on excellence in teaching. A diverse group of individuals, BSU faculty come from some of the most prestigious institutions in the world and many have distinguished themselves through scholarship, research and service.
